Did you know that in the US alone, more then 8 million families have a parent with a disability? Find resources here!



Dana Mitchell's parents learned how to parent an active child from a wheelchair through trial and error. They have dsecided to share their wisdom through this special site. Resources include: books, organizations, web resources, and products that parents with disabilities have used to make independent parenting a reality. One fun game to play with a PhysioBall

Try lying kids on a physiotherapy ball on their tummies. Encourage them to reach up, perhaps to remove magnets from the refrigerator door. Neck, back, stomach, and arm muscles are all strengthened. This is a great exercise for children with low muscle tone!
