G-Tube Feeding Tips
By: Renata Bursten, Dragonfly Staff

Over 30 parent-tested tips for managing the troublesome aspects of tube feeding.

Some children have G-Buttons that continually leak due to granulation tissue. To solve the problem, one mother from Avon Indiana took a disposable nursing pad and folded it into fourths and cut the corner off, leaving a hole in the center. She then cut two vertical lines opposite of each other. She cleans her daughter's button, drys it, and put Desitin under it. Then she gently eases the nursing pad over the button and underneath it. It collects all of the moisture and draws it away from her daughter's skin. THe pad stays in place all day or night. Mom is am pleased to say, the granulation tissue has all but disappeared on its own!
,That is just one of the many helpful tips to be found on this execptionally useful page of tips from the good folks at "Special Child" e-zine.
